MIDLAND – Local fitness enthusiasts, including Alex Jeffrey, will “burpee” their way along King Street starting at 11 a.m. on June 5 to help raise money for the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride Foundation.

A burpee is a common, but physically demanding, exercise move combining elements of a squat, a pushup and a vertical leap.

Participants in the “Burpee Mile” must gather a minimum of $50 in pledges; corporate sponsors have been asked to pledge $100. All funds raised will go to the foundation.
